  CENTERING PRAYER WORKSHOP
  
  This form of Christian prayer is rooted in the ancient Christian contemplative tradition. Its purpose is to foster a deeper intimacy with Christ through the silence and stillness of contemplative prayer.
  
  This is truly a gift from God who loves us and invites us to enhance our relationship with Him.
  This day of prayer will include Lectio Divina (listening to the word of God in Scripture).
  
  Sr. Mary McGehee of the Benedictine Monastery of Sacred Heart in Cullman will be our guest speaker for the day. She will guide us in meditation beginning at 9am and ending at 3 pm. The day will include an explanation and history of contemplative prayer and practice sessions. We will break at noon for lunch. Donation of $9.00 will help with lunch costs.
