OUR MISSION

We, the people of St. James Parish, are called by God and inspired by the Holy Spirit to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ in our world.

A Faithful People. A people united in Catholic belief, rooted in the Gospel and devoted to Christ and His Church.

A Eucharistic People. A people worshiping in joy and gratitude to express our faith and celebrate God’s saving action in our lives.

A Praying People. A people eager to offer ourselves to God, ask His aid in all things and seek the intercession of Saints.

A Witnessing People. People willing to share the Good News by word and deed in obedience to Jesus Christ.

A Serving People. A people reaching out with Christ-like love to welcome strangers and outcasts showing spiritual and corporal works of mercy.

A Reconciling People. A people striving for peace that seeks healing in relationships between

God and man and one another.

A Holy People. A people set apart from the world to hallow the Name of God in accord with Scripture and Tradition.

A Proclaiming and Teaching People.

A people that announce, witness, teach, educate and spread the Good News to our community and the world.

  • When are services?

    Saturday: 3 PM Confessions, 4 PM Mass

    Sunday: 8 AM, 10:30 AM, and 1 PM Mass (Spanish) 


  • When is confession available?

    • For confessions during the week, please set an appointment with Fr. Jose               Contact number: (205) 563-8217
    • Saturday: 3 PM
    • If confessions are needed on Sunday, they are normally before Mass.
  • What should I wear?

    Please make sure to wear your Sunday best! 

    Always dress modestly and with reverence when coming to church.

  • How do I get to the church?

  • Where should I park?

    The church has a parking lot area behind the church building. If you are unable to find a parking spot there, please park close to the bank or the post office. 

  • Where do my children go?

  • Am I expected to put money in the offering?

    We do not expect you to put money in the offertory baskets, the main focus point is the celebration of Mass. If you wish to give anything, it should come from the heart and whatever you wish to give!

  • Is there a wheelchair accessible entrance?

    Yes, we do have a wheelchair-accessible entrance! It can be accessed from the parking lot in the back.
